Hilly lanes with a convent and views over the rooftops of the centre.
Apothecary Garden
Glasshouses and old trees in Peter the Great’s botanical garden.

How to look at the city
The best light is in the morning and an hour before sunset. In the morning the centre is almost empty; in the evening façades take on warm tones.
Don’t be afraid to leave the main routes by a block: in Moscow the most interesting things are often just around the corner from a popular street.
